My Helper mobile screens showing bilingual service discovery, booking review, and Mobile Money payment
One marketplace, designed for customers and local service providers.

The product

My Helper helps English- and French-speaking customers find, book, message, track, rate, and pay verified service providers from one mobile experience.

Challenge

A single job moves through discovery, trust, scheduling, conversation, payment, completion, payout, and review. Every state had to stay clear to customers, providers, and operations staff in both supported languages.

Approach

  1. Structured the product around role-specific customer, helper, and operations journeys.
  2. Treated English and French as first-class product experiences instead of a final translation layer.
  3. Used explicit status language for asynchronous payments, escrow, earnings, and withdrawals.

Implementation

  1. Built the React Native customer and provider experiences for discovery, booking, chat, tracking, and reviews.
  2. Created a React operations dashboard for provider approvals, account review, ledger visibility, exports, and audit history.
  3. Built Node.js APIs and Firebase services for escrow, Mobile Money payments, refunds, and payouts, using a double-entry ledger, atomic transactions, and idempotency.
